CRISPY GREEN BEANS WITH GRATED TAMARI HONEY CHILLI TOFU
Serves 4 as a side
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tsp sesame oil
400g green beans, washed and trimmed
Tofu:
1 tbsp sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
3 asian shallots, trimmed and finely sliced
400g firm tofu, grated on larger setting
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
3 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
pinch chilli flakes
Optional extras for serving: mayonnaise and sriracha dressing
Heat a large frypan on medium heat and sprinkle sesame seeds around the pan to toast. Once golden, set aside. Increase the heat to high and add 2 tsp sesame oil to the pan followed by the green beans and stir fry for 3-4 minutes, so that the beans stay lovely and crisp (not soggy). Set aside then add 1 tbsp sesame oil to the pan with the garlic, shallots, tofu, honey, tamari and chilli flakes and stir fry for 4-5 minutes. Pop beans and tofu onto a serving platter, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve as is or try adding some mayonnaise and sriracha for an extra kicker!
